To me personally it doesn't sound so rude, there are expressions that are considered much more rude. Now with regard to "maldita sea!", it's a curse that I would translate as "damn it!", so the level of rudeness depends on the person. The thing about the word "chingón" is that it's part of a family of words that are widely used in Mexican Spanish and that share the same root of the word "chingar" which, in Mexico, is the equivalent of the F word, so that's why many people consider those words to be vulgar, yet I use those words a lot myself but only with my closest friends and family, if you say them in other contexts, "proper" people will naturally think you're rude.
